Relbia Clay Products was employed by Parks and Wildlife Tasmania, to replicate the ball and capping for the gateposts situated at the front entrance of Entally House, the well known stately home in Northern Tasmania.
A plaster mould was taken from the original ball and capping and the form was replicated in concrete.
Concrete was used in this case, for the purposes of complete accuracy (no shrinkage involved).
The original ball and capping (above left) stand at the rear entrance of the stately home and are made of wood; the six replicas (above right), stand at the main entrance gates.
The replicas are a fine example of the versatility and accuracy of plaster moulding.
